Photography Trip | Experience & Experiment | Tenerife | November 2022

Program

Day 1: Saturday 12 November

Arrival day in Tenerife, check-in from 16.00h at our accommodation. You arrive at this amazing island, and you will immediately feel the nice temperature! You can use a pick-up service from the airport to our accommodation. Likewise, you will be welcomed at our accommodation, and you can already settle in. We start as a group with a  welcome dinner and the program of the week will be shared.

Day 2: Sunday 13 November

Day 2 focuses on the basics of photography. The exposure triangle (aperture, ISO and shutter speed) will be explained by using photos as well to get a better understanding. After, we will actively work to not only understand the exposure triangle, but also apply it. You will mainly experiment a lot with these 3 elements so that you experience what influence each element has.

Day 3: Monday 14 November

On day 3 we will use our experiences from the exposure triangle, and we will experiment with portrait photography! Portrait photography is a profession in its own right! How do you focus? Which composition do you choose and why? How do you ensure depth of field? What do you say to your model? How can you capture pure emotions? You get a good dose of assignments, very practical, to experience which effects you can create.

Day 4: Tuesday 15 November

On day 4 we will use our portrait skills at beautiful locations (in nature) with models that you will instruct. This is where everything you've learned so far comes together. Applying the exposure triangle with the continuously changing outdoor light. You will determine your own composition and instruct the model. We work with different settings, in which you are challenged!

Day 5: Wednesday 16 November

The nature and landscapes of Tenerife are beautiful. We take you to one of the most beautiful places on the island and start photographing the sunrise! After the sunrise, we continue to travel to other beautiful places and teach you how to create a strong composition and we practice how you can create a completely different effect with long exposure.

Day 6: Thursday 17 November

A hiking day! Nature is so fantastic here, a great to experience this, is by foot. We walk through the beautiful and varied landscapes and of course with enough places to take fantastic photos.

Day 7: Friday 18 November

In the morning, you have free time to relax. In the afternoon, we discuss the photos you have taken. How we spend the last evening is a surprise, I am sure you'll enjoy it!

Day 8: Saturday 19 November

The last day has arrived! This is the day we say goodbye to each other and travel home or elsewhere.

The program can always change, this is mainly depending on the weather forecast.

Group size

4-8 people. A small group, so there is enough attention for everyone. The trip only takes place with a minimum of 4 people. Jet ter Halle will guide you during the whole week. We also have a guest photographer, Pablo Borboroglu, who will cover some parts of the week. We have both different specialities in photography.

Language

English (Pablo is native in Spanish, Jet is native in Dutch)

Costs

This 8-day photography trip costs €1495,- incl. VAT.

Photography equipment

A mirrorless camera or DSLR is necessary during this trip. Contact me if you have any doubts about what equipment to bring or if you want any advice!

During this trip, we focus on portrait photography and landscape photography. A zoom lens is good to bring. Of course, if you have a portrait lens (35mm, 50mm or 85mm) or landscape lens (range in 10-35mm) bring these as well.

• 7 nights accommodation (shared or private room)
• Welcome dinner on the day of arrival

• Flight tickets
• We will also have lunch or dinner outdoors in restaurants. These costs are not included in the price.

• Pick-up from airport to accommodation on arrival
• Pick-up from accommodation to airport on departure

Other

Allergies and dietary requirements: when booking the trip, indicate immediately whether you have certain (food) allergies or dietary requirements. Also consider whether you are vegan, vegetarian or you don't eat fish or meat.

Condition and fitness: we will also take walks and go for a hike. You need to be fit for that. If you have any doubts or questions about this, ask Jet (tour guide and photographer).
